DESIGN AND TEST CENTER (HDTC)
All our hoses and line components are thoroughly tested in our modern test laboratory in Stockholm. This is so that you as a customer can feel safe when you buy a product from Hydroscand.
At Hydroscand's test laboratory, we have combined 50 years of industry experience with advanced test equipment. Before a new product reaches the market, it must pass a series of tough product tests to ensure that it lives up to Hydroscand's high quality requirements.
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION
At Hydroscand, we have a fast production chain where we work closely with our customers and suppliers. This means that our products quickly reaches the market.
We always strive to optimize the connection between hose and hose coupling. The engineering team at HDTC therefore develops and constructs products on an ongoing basis in the 3D-cad system SolidWorks.

Flex/impulse and impulse, so-called service life test
These tests are performed in one of HDTC's large rigs where up to twelve hoses can be tested simultaneously. These tests simulate an accelerated service life of a hose assembly. We perform tests in accordance with ISO 6803 (impulse test) and ISO 8032 (flex/impulse test) or according to the customer's unique requirements.
A standard test includes between 150,000 and 1,000,000 impulse cycles with a pressure up to 730 bar and an oil temperature up to 150 °C.The test procedure is the toughest possible, designed to simulate way more than just normal operation.
Individual hose and pipe assemblies that require a certificate, are test pressured to a maximum of twice the working pressure for up to 60 seconds before delivered to the customer. This is a smart way to test, as the service life is not affected and even the slightest error or defect can be detected immediately. The same equipment is also used to validate the specified burst pressure for our hoses.
Leakage and bursting test
A leakage and bursting test is performed to ensure that the connection on a hose with mounted coupling and sleeve holds tight and that the connection remains at at least the specified bursting pressure. The test equipment can also be used to measure change in length of hose under pressure.
Hydroscand can perform tests up to 4,000 bar and complies with standard EN ISO 1402.
Corrosion can result in irreversible damage to materials, wiring components, equipment, machinery and piping. Such damage is not only expensive to repair, but can also lead to production stoppages, health and safety risks and ultimately a damaged brand.
Hydroscand Design and Test Center, HDTC, has a climate chamber where we ensure that corrosion protection meets our quality requirements and customer expectations.
HDTC performs tests in accordance with ISO 9227: NSS Neutral salt spray test. Our requirement today is 500h for base metal corrosion, but we always do tests up to 750h as that is our goal.
To achieve a leak-free system, it is required that all hoses and pipe components are of high quality. HDTC has special equipment for testing hardness, surface finish and tightening torques of wiring components.
For hose flex testing, HDTC has developed its own rig that enables the classification of hose based on the flexural stiffness.
